CASE leaders are highly trained professionals with long experience working on sustainable development and environmental conservation in Costa Rica. In alphabetical order they are:

Matthew Cook, M.A., Ph.D.(A.B.D.)

 
Matthew is a native of the United States and has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin, Plan II Honors Program where he started his international experience during his Junior Year Abroad in 1989. He has a Masters and Ph.D. (A.B.D)  in Economics from the University of California at Riverside where he specialized in Development and Environmental Economics. Matt has over 10 years experience working and living in Costa Rica and six years working directly on sustainable development and environmental conservation. He is the founder of the Association for the Conservation of the Mono Tití (ASCOMOTI) and is currently the Executive Director of the environmental conservation non-profit, the Fund for Costa Rica.
   
Lilliana Méndez Villarreal
 

Lilliana is a native of Costa Rica.  She has a Bachelors degree in theater and is currently a candidate for her Masters degree in Teaching Spanish as a Second Language from the University of Costa Rica. She has worked with at-risk youth in the United States and specializes in language education with an emphasis on strategies of nonverbal communication.
