What is a Service Expedition?
Central American Service Expeditions (CASE) arose from the need for quality international service and inter-cultural experiences for young people.  As economic production and consumption become more global, it is critical that all of us learn more about the world in which we live and on which we all depend. This process is best begun at an early age when young people are just starting to take an interest in the world around them.

A service expedition combines community service with adventure travel to some of the most beautiful places in the world.  A service expedition with CASE helps open a young person’s mind to the many possibilities of the world and our role within it.

Central American Service Expeditions embodies our commitment to take young adults out of their comfort zone and place them within a context that allows them to challenge stereotypes they may hold about about other cultures and perhaps about themselves. Our goal is to provide tools for young people to think critically about poverty, development, and privilege.

Experience in the Field
The CASE team has long experience promoting sustainable development and environmental conservation in Central America, and we have applied that experience to our service expeditions. During our expeditions we strive to ensure that participants are immersed in local culture and work side by side with people from local communities. Also, each service expedition provides direct financial support to rural Central American community based organizations.
Support for Local Communities
CASE supports rural development projects both by leading our groups to areas that are off the beaten path and through direct financial support of locally controlled conservation and development projects. CASE explicitly supports rural community tourism to promote sustainable rural economic development and environmental conservation. Further, CASE donates 10% of the total cost of our service expeditions to the community-based organizations with which our groups work. Our expeditions are "service" expeditions in every sense of the word!
Central American Service Expeditions provides many ways to experience Central America and Cuba, and to work in solidarity with local communities.
High School and College Groups
CASE specializes in designing international service learning expeditions for high school students and alternative Spring Break/service trips for college students.  If you are a student and want to take an expedition by yourself or with friends, we work to provide you with a trip you’ll remember for the rest of your life!  If you are a teacher, we can design an expedition which applies lessons you are teaching in economics, Latin American history, international relations, biology, ecology, Spanish, and much more!  We also offer special packages for teachers who accompany their students on an expedition.  No one combines adventure travel with service learning better than CASE!
Adult Travel to Cuba
Central American Service Expeditions has taken its experience in designing meaningful service and cultural exchange trips for students and applied it to our exclusive adult trips to Cuba.  Our "people-to-people" trips to Cuba allow adults to immerse themselves in Cuban dance, music, and culture and to explore the history Cuba and the United States share together.  The experience of staying with Cuban families and spending time with Cuban professionals and academics makes for one of the most fascinating and meaningful trips of a lifetime.

Family Travel
CASE can custom design a trip for your family which combines adventure with community service in some of the most beautiful places in Central America. There is no better way for a family to share and grow together than through a service expedition with CASE. Families can make their vacation together a truly unique experience and bond in a way that is simply not possible with conventional vacations.
